Artist in Residence at London's Wigmore Hall for the 23/24 season, 12 Ensemble presented four striking concerts with music that arced from the 17th century to the modern day.
Highlights included Vivier's rarely performed cult work Zipangu, contemporary works by John Luther Adams, Sofia Gubaidulina and Anna Clyne, collaborations with artists Samson Tsoy, Tine Thing Helseth, Fleur Barron, and a new commission from Oliver Leith for Sean Shibe, GBSR Duo and 12 Ensemble.
For 2025, 12 Ensemble present two new programmes featuring Messiaen's symphonic meditation L’Ascension (IV. Prayer of Christ Ascending Towards His Father), Rautavaara's Concerto for Birds, contemporary works by Oliver Coates, Tom Coult, and a new commission from Isabella Gellis. They are joined by Tim Ridout for Britten's Lachrymae.
